silhouette of trees during nighttime

I’ve never been a huge fan of the dark. I also never called myself “afraid of the dark”. As I starting trying to take more photos of the amazing stars, like this one, I became more familiar with standing in the dark alone for hours at a time. No phone. No light. A whole lot of waiting. Just me and the stars. What I have found is that being afraid of the dark, for me at least, means not owning up to whatever has been on my mind and bothering me. It means I have something I don’t want to confront and need to. It means I need to spend time alone thinking. The dark is perfect for that.
