"Resilience". 2020 has been an unhappy year for many people, a time when there has been a great need for resilience. One of the many challenges included forest fires, particularly in the US and Australia. These gum trees are the epitome of resilience, having survived many fires, and will continue to survive many more. I like the contrast in this scene between the pale tree trunks of the gum trees and the burnt black ground. A very Australian landscape.
