A rare lightning storm rolled into Cape Town a 3am in the morning. I wanted a wide shot and when I arrived at the location the storm had moved behind Table Mountain. I had to wait over an hour fighting off the relentless onslaught of mosquitoes. The wait was worth it and when the storm finally moved back in view I was able to capture some great images. It felt as if Thor had arrived over the city with massive bolts of lightning reaching down to the ground.
