four gray sharks

Mexico’s island archipelago Revillagigedo —off the coast of Baja California— is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was declared a marine reserve and national park in 2017. It is rare to find a school of sharks so close one to another and also close to the beautiful reef. I find this picture special because of the variety of colors and type of sealife. The picture was taken 4 months before Mexico’s government finally declared it a marine reserve —in part thanks to Mexico’s President’s admiration of Leonardo Di Caprio and the actor’s work in wildlife conservation, despite years of work by many.
