The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Monument, known as the Atomic Bomb Dome, is a memorial that tells the tragic effects of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima City, Japan at 8:15 on August 6, 1945. Originally opened as a Hiroshima Prefectural Product Exhibition Hall to display various products from Hiroshima Prefecture, it was called the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall when the atomic bomb was dropped.
