This was the last photo I took on my first visit to Burghley House at the end of Autumn. A small group of trees set back far from the house and grounds. Whilst the bronze, copper, and gold tones of the leaves still on the branches were gorgeous, those that had fallen, lay in the faint shadows of their former pedestal with their metallic shine stripped away, showcasing their naturally strong, bold, and darker colours. @matt__feeney had kindly leant me his 50mm f/1.4 lens for the day, which was an absolute blast and a marked improvement over my 18-55mm kit lens!
