Monument to Franz Werfel, a donation by the People of Armenia. The admiration for Werfel in Armenia is based on his novel “The 40 days of Musa Dagh”. The subject of the book is a battle between Armenians and Turks in the context of the genocide commited by the Osman (turkish) empire. Franz Werfel was born in the Austrian Prague of 1890 and died as an immigrant in Beverly Hills in 1945. His literary style was expressionistic.
