We were driving back to Texas from Santa Fe early New Year’s Eve. Most of the New Mexican highway was swarmed with a dense fog and we weren’t able to see anything but the car right in front of us. Suddenly, the fog opened up and we were surrounded by these gorgeous plains, still covered in frost and gleaming in the morning sun.
