Western Kansas is known for two things: being flat and being windy. Both of those qualities make us a prime location for wind farms. People love them and people hate them. My wife hates them at night because a giant field of glowing red dots reminds her of ‘War of the Worlds’. I personally love them for multiple reasons, but for photography, they are nice in this area because they establish a looming vertical subject when we are accustomed to only never ending horizons.
