Earth Hour is the world’s largest grassroots environmental movement uniting people to take action for the planet. For Earth Hour 2024, we are collaborating to help make the Biggest Hour for Earth even bigger.

About Earth Hour

Earth Hour, born in 2007 as a lights-out event in Sydney, Australia, has since grown to inspire individuals and organizations in over 190 countries to celebrate our one shared home while continuing to shine the spotlight on the climate and nature crises. In our increasingly divided world, Earth Hour is a precious moment of unity and beacon of hope, reminding us of our shared responsibility to protect our planet and safeguard all our futures.

In 2023, new life was breathed into Earth Hour, with the movement now seeking to create the Biggest Hour for Earth, turning a single Earth Hour into thousands and millions of hours of action and awareness. How? By calling supporters across the globe to switch off their lights and Give an hour for Earth, spending 60 minutes doing something - anything - positive for our planet.

How the Unsplash Community can Give an Hour for Earth

By using your creative skills and reconnecting with nature, you can help the world see our planet through a new lens, reminding them of its beauty - and fragility - and inspiring more people to protect our one shared home.
